W.S. Gilbert’s Quotes of the Week (Read more here)
‘Three little maids from school are we, Pert as a schoolgirl well can be, Filled to the brim with girlish glee.’ (The Mikado) Note: Seems to be most effective when sung in amateur productions by ladies of somewhat senior years - particularly if they take themselves seriously.
‘She may very well pass for forty-three In the dusk with the light behind her!’ (Trial by Jury)
‘If a man can’t forge his own will, whose will can he forge? (Ruddigore)

It.s many years since we went to a G&S concert at the Windmill Theatre when we saw The Gondoliers. My musical taste crystalised about 1950. I love happy and beautiful music and find most in operetta and the musicals plays of the Victorian era and the first half on the last century. Look forward to attending your concerts this comng seasonName: Brett Butler Sent: 12/15/2009 10:51:01 pm
